This was a very different day from yesterday when I had a slight tailwind and it was about 35c.
Today I had increasingly strong and cooling headwinds with the air dropping to 16 C over the day. I also crossed the border to Alberta in Lloydminster.
It was a very slow ride. So I only made 120km over a full day, and I hope this wind does not continue. There is no campsite so I’m staying in a motel as I also have to organize my stay in Edmonton.
There was a significant change in geography. At first it continued to be flat but the last 40 km became quite hilly. This was a welcome change as the monotony of the ride through the prairies fore about a week is slowly getting to me.
Today was a mere biking day with minimal interaction with people. Most of the focus was on the road and the wind..
I will try to make it to Edmonton tomorrow and I have to get up early
Here’s picture of me packing up this morning in a campground near Maidenstone.
Now I can see some hills in the west……..
A little pond along the way..
Go West however you can!!
Hi Joachim! I look forward to reading your blogs every day. We are very proud of you. I hope we have an opportunity to watch recordings of your interviews! Your BGCFS friends.
Thanks Sue
I have not forgotten any of you
Looking forward to hills when you are biking to break the monotony is that like hoping for a really rocky trail as you are running or big waves while you are canoeing or gail force winds while you are sailing? I’m glad you now have hills so you don’t fall asleep when you are biking. Remember to coast the down hills and get a break. Enjoy!!!
Thanks Clark
Let our collective winds propelled us forward to ctc
